Overview

A TFT LCD panel requires a driver and controller board to convert an input video signal into the timing and data format the panel expects. We supply driver and controller boards to suit a wide range of TFT LCD panels, including boards with HDMI interfaces for straightforward integration with standard video sources.

Boards can be matched to panel resolution, interface type (LVDS, RGB, MIPI) and connector configuration, with options for on-screen display controls, brightness adjustment and power supply integration to suit your application.

Industrial display projects are often controlled by platforms such as Raspberry Pi or Windows-based computers. These platforms commonly use HDMI or VGA, while the original LCD module normally does not accept HDMI directly. An added driver board converts the host signal into the format required by the LCD module.

HDMI/VGA:LCD driver boards are available as an additional integration service. Common display sizes—including 5.0-inch, 7.0-inch and 10.1-inch modules—can use ready-developed boards with HDMI and VGA inputs, allowing customers to connect the display to their system more conveniently.

SPI:Some embedded platforms only provide SPI but still need to operate 4.3-inch, 5.0-inch or 7.0-inch displays. Native SPI is generally not suitable for the higher resolutions used at these sizes because its data rate is limited. A driver board with cache memory and font resources can bridge the interface, allowing the host to control the display through SPI while reducing development time and cost.

MCU:Some customers require a 4.3-inch or 5.0-inch display controlled through an MCU interface, even though the original LCD driver IC does not support MCU directly. The conversion circuit can be implemented on the FPC or on the TCON PCB. This adds cost, but it can still be more economical than replacing the customer's existing development platform.

TCON:The TCON board—also called a logic board—receives data signals from the customer's motherboard, processes them through its logic circuitry and converts them into the timing and drive signals required by the LCD display.
